Maxime Jean-Yves Colin (born November 15, 1991 in Arras ) is a French football player .

Club career

Colin grew up in Anzin-Saint-Aubin near Arras and began playing football at a local club. He belonged to three other clubs from the region before he moved to US Boulogne in February 2009 at the age of 17 , which made it into the first division in the same year. The young player was not used in the top French league, however, because he was only accepted into the professional squad in 2010 and thus after relegation. Colin made his second division and professional debut when he was allowed to play for the full 90 minutes in a game against Stade Laval on September 17, 2010 . From then on he played regularly for the team with whom he had to accept relegation to the third division in 2012.

Subsequently, he initially remained loyal to the club, but returned to professional football in early September 2012 when he was signed by the first division club ES Troyes AC . The transfer fee incurred for the transfer is estimated at 500,000 euros. Previously, several other clubs had shown interest in the player. Colin made his first division debut at Troyes when he was on the pitch for the full length of the game in a 3-2 draw against SC Bastia on October 6, 2012 . Apart from an injury break, he also had a regular place with the first division club, but could not prevent relegation from the top division at the end of his first year in Troyes. In the following time he was able to consolidate his place in the first team.

The 2014/15 season he played for the Belgian club RSC Anderlecht and for the following two years he was under contract with the English second division club Brentford . He has been playing for their league rivals Birmingham City since 2017 .

National team

After establishing himself in the second division team in Boulogne, Colin was appointed to the French U-20 team at the beginning of 2011 and made his debut for them when he beat England 2-1 on February 9 in the 46. Minute was substituted on. In addition to this, he played four other friendlies before he was nominated for the squad for the U-20 World Cup in the summer of the same year . In the course of the tournament he was taken into account in a preliminary round game and in the game for third place against Mexico. Because the latter was lost with 1: 3, Colin reached fourth place with his team. He was then not considered for the selection again.
