Jude Victor William Bellingham (born June 29, 2003 in Stourbridge ) is an English football player who has been under contract with Borussia Dortmund since July 2020 . The midfielder has been a U17 international since September 2019 .

He is both the youngest player to appear in a league game for Birmingham City and the youngest to score for the team.

Career

society

Bellingham comes from the Birmingham City Youth Academy , where he first played in the U8. At the age of 15, due to his advanced athleticism and physique, he played in the club's U23 team and in the 2018/19 season he scored three goals in 12 league appearances for these three goals. In preparation for the 2019/20 season , the offensive player trained with the first team and played for them in friendly matches. After he had been able to convince those responsible of his abilities, including his agility and assertiveness, the 16-year-old was integrated into the second division squad by interim coach Pep Clotet . The Daily Mail and the Guardian , according to he received up to the age of 17 years at the club a weekly training content of 145 pounds (about 160 euros).

On August 25, 2019, Bellingham made his EFL Cup debut when he was substituted on in the 76th minute of the 3-0 away loss to Swansea City . At 16 years and 38 days, he became the youngest player ever to wear Birmingham City's jersey and broke the previous record of the legendary Trevor Francis from 1970. He was 101 days older on his debut. Six days later, Bellingham was substituted on for the injured Jefferson Montero in the 2-1 home win against Stoke City in the first half and scored the decisive winning goal for the Blues in the 76th minute . This also made him the youngest goal scorer in the club's history. In the next few weeks he worked out a regular place and was used in the central midfield and on the two wings . At the turn of the year he slipped with Birmingham City in the relegation battle. Until his move in July 2020 - the season was not yet over due to the COVID-19 pandemic - he played in 40 league games, in which he scored four goals and three assists.

For the 2020/21 season, Bellingham moved to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund , with whom he signed a long-term contract. He thus followed his compatriot and future teammate Jadon Sancho , who had also taken the step abroad three years earlier at the age of 17.

National team

Since July 2018, Bellingham played in the English U16 and scored four goals for them in seven appearances.

At the beginning of September 2019 he was in action for the U17s at the Syrenka Cup , a friendship tournament in Poland . There he scored twice in three games and was named player of the tournament.
