societies

Zagadou, whose parents come from the Ivory Coast , was born in the Paris suburb of Créteil and began playing football for the local club US Créteil . In 2011 he moved to the youth of Paris Saint-Germain . For his second team, he played nine times in the fourth-class Championnat de France Amateur in the 2016/17 season .

For the 2017/18 season , Zagadou moved to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer , with whom he signed a five-year contract. He made his competitive debut for Dortmund on August 5, 2017 in the DFL Supercup against FC Bayern Munich , which BVB lost on penalties . He made his first league game on August 19, 2017, the first matchday of the season, when he was in the starting line-up in Dortmund's 3-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg . He played for the injured captain Marcel Schmelzer on the left full-back position and was substituted in the 78th minute. In Dortmund's 2: 4 away defeat on October 28, 2017 (10th matchday) against Hannover 96 , Zagadou scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 27th minute of the game and was expelled from the field in the 59th minute after an emergency brake . In August 2019, Zagadou won his first title with the club when the double winner of the previous season, FC Bayern Munich, was defeated 2-0 in the DFL Supercup . From November the Frenchman Manuel Akanji was pushed out of the central defense and impressed with his robust style of play, only 6 of 22 games in which he played were lost. Due to muscle and ligament injuries, Zagadou was no longer able to actively contribute from mid-May 2020 and only returned to the field with a short deployment on the penultimate match day.

There he was used in all three group games of his team, which France finished bottom of the group with just one point from the games against Denmark (0: 0), England (0: 2) and Sweden (0: 1). On September 1, 2016, Zagadou made his debut in a 3-1 win in Switzerland for the U18 team .

At the U20 World Cup in Poland in 2019 , Zagadou led the U20 national team as team captain. The team was eliminated in the round of 16 against the USA .
