Megan Nicole Flores (born September 1, 1993 in Houston , Texas), commonly known as Megan Nicole , is an American singer-songwriter , actress and model who has been running a YouTube channel since 2009 .

Life

Megan Nicole was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Katy, Texas . When she was 10, her father bought her a karaoke machine, which sparked her interest in music. She also sang in the church choir and during her high school time in a church band. On July 1, 2017, she married her longtime boyfriend, Cooper Green.

Career

In 2009 Nicole uploaded her first video to YouTube, a cover of the Kings of Leon song Use Somebody . Many more covers followed, including by Bruno Mars , Katy Perry , Justin Bieber , Miley Cyrus , Taylor Swift , Selena Gomez and Lorde . She worked with other YouTube artists such as Tiffany Alvord , Alyssa Bernal, Madilyn Bailey , Tyler Ward , Dave Days , Conor Maynard and Lindsey Stirling .

Her first own song Bea-utiful was released on July 15, 2011. It was written by Megan Nicole along with Lairs Johnston, Stephen Folden and Tom Mgrdichian, and was viewed a million times in the first two days.

In August 2012, Nicole signed a recording deal with Bad Boy Records . In September 2012 it came to number 29 on the Billboard Social 50 chart.

By April 2014, her YouTube channel had 1.5 million subscribers and 350 million video views. She performed at the pre-show party for the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards . She made appearances in various countries, including Germany.

On August 19, 2014, their single Electrified was released , the accompanying music video, which is held in the style of the 80s, celebrated its premiere on September 16, 2014 on People.com. Her debut album Escape was released on October 14th, 2014 and contains, in addition to Electrified , four other songs that were written by Nicole with Mgrdichian. Nicole is also one of the winners of the 2015 YouTube Music Awards.

Nicole played the lead role of Sydney in the film Summer Forever opposite Alyson Stoner and Anna Grace Barlow. This was published on September 4, 2015 via video-on-demand . In the Netflix -Cartoonserie Popples it borrows the figure Squeaky Pop her voice.

In 2016 she published another song of her own called Mascara , which is described as the "ultimate happy break-up song".
