Meinhard Meuche-Mäker (* 1958 in Hamburg ) is a German political scientist and party researcher . He is the managing director of the Hamburger Landesstiftung and head of the Hamburg regional office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation .

biography

Meuche-Mäker was born in Hamburg-Lokstedt and graduated from the Kaiser-Friedrich-Ufer high school . He completed his political science studies at the University of Hamburg in 1985 with a diploma. In the nineties he was a member of the Marxist night school Hamburg whose board he belonged later. In 1996 he was a founding member of the Hamburg Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung , meanwhile worked in the Hamburg office of the PDS - parliamentary group and as a political advisor .

For the 2002 elections ran Meuche-Mäker in the constituency Hamburg-Eimsbüttel as a direct candidate for the PDS. He said: “I don't see myself as a professional politician. Above all, I want to counteract the cliché that you can't change anything about it anyway; who do what they want up there ', but oppose it [...] ”.

He has headed the Hamburg office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation since 2006.

About DIE LINKE. Where is it changing the republic to? wrote Mario Candeias , the work plots “possible development scenarios for different political projects” and provides “empirical analyzes of the actors' view of the formation of the new party”. Anke Rösener remarked that the book offers impetus "for a strategy discussion of the left as a whole".

Harald Bergsdorf commented on The PDS in the West 1990-2005: Conclusions for a new left , Meuche-Mäker - who “explains why the West was a difficult place for PDS campaigners at least until 2005” - leave differences between the West and East Germans Disregard left . For example, "left-wing extremist anarchism in the West and SED-trained anti-pluralism often hardly go together." In the Annotated Bibliography of Political Science , reference is made to the treatise as a “concrete guide for a successful transformation of the PDS in the West German federal states”.

According to Florian Hartleb , with the rise and fall of Ronald Barnabas Schill - sketches on Schill's variant of West German right-wing populism , the authors "took a detailed position on the Schill party ". In view to right the writing was discussed as "informative brochure".

Apart from his scientific work , Meuche-Mäker is co-editor and co-author of two travel guides . In the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung was southern France. A travel book described as "multifaceted" and "informative". It is "refreshingly drawn against clichés and against prejudices" and offers "things that you otherwise rarely get to read, for example about the Les Milles camp ".
