Messier 52 (also known as NGC 7654 ) is a +7.3 mag bright open star cluster with an angular extent of 13 ′ in the constellation Cassiopeia . It is located around 4600 light years from the Sun, its age is estimated at 60 million years, which makes this object one of the younger clusters of its kind. In total, it comprises around 1000 solar masses and more than 600 stars.
The common name of this star cluster is Cassiopeia salt and pepper .
