NGC 7642 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 406 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 7629 and IC 1482 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on October 19, 1864 .
