NGC 7659 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 185 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light-years across. 
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7649 , NGC 7651 , IC 5319 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 16, 1784 .
