Michael Austin Cera (born June 7, 1988 in Brampton , Ontario ; also Michael Céra ) is a Canadian actor and musician .

Live and act

His mother, Linda, is from Montreal . The father Luigi comes from Sicily and works as a technician at Xerox . Cera has an older sister named Jordan and a younger sister named Molly. In his hometown, he attended Heart Lake Secondary School . When he was eight or nine years old, he was discovered doing commercials. His first, albeit unpaid, role was in an advertisement for Tim Hortons' summer camps . Cera lives in Brampton when he's not in Los Angeles filming .

He has appeared in over thirty roles in various television series and films, including the family film An Unbeatable Double (1999) with Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen and in the science fiction film Frequency (2000) with Dennis Quaid . In the dramatic agent series Nikita with Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis , Cera starred in 2000 in episode 4x10 The Boy from Section Four ( He Came from Four ) the guest role of Jerome . He also had a supporting role in the film Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) by and with George Clooney . At the age of fourteen he made the pilot films for the comedy series Arrested Development and played George-Michael Bluth in 53 episodes from 2003 to 2006 . In May 2013, the series returned to the video-on-demand provider Netflix for 15 new episodes in which he took up his role again.

In 2002, Cera was nominated for a Young Artist Award for the television drama My Louisiana Sky . At the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2005 , 2006 and 2014 he was nominated together with the rest of the cast of Arrested Development in the category Best Acting Company in a TV Series - Comedy . In the Internet comedy series Clark and Michael (2006), he worked as an actor, director , screenwriter , author, producer and film editor with.

In 2007 Cera made his breakthrough with his roles in the comedies Superbad and Juno .

Since 2019 he has appeared in the YouTube- funded and broadcast series Weird City , in which he plays the role of Tawny . The series can also be seen in Germany on YouTube. There has been no German synchronization so far; YouTube uses subtitles instead.
