Michael Chernus

Michael Chernus (born August 8, 1977 in Rocky River , Ohio ) is an American actor .

life and career

Michael Chernus comes from the US state Ohio, where he also attended high school. He is a successful graduate of the Juilliard School . In addition to his appearances in film and television, Chernus regularly appears on the theater stage. In 2011 he won the Obie Award for his performance at The Public Theater in New York City in the play In the Wake .

Chernus has been active in film and television since 2005. After brief appearances in films such as The Messenger , Chernus played a recurring role on the Mercy series from 2009 to 2010 . He was subsequently cast in films such as Higher Ground , Men in Black 3 , The Bourne Legacy and Captain Phillips . He gained greater fame, however, primarily through the role of Cal Chapman in the series Orange Is the New Black . Before that, he also played a recurring role as Louis Fedowitz in Manhattan . Since 2015 he can be seen as Edward Tavner in the series Patriot . As a guest actor he appeared in series such as Nurse Jackie , Royal Pains , Nashville , Elementary and Good Wife .

In 2017, he took on the role of Phineas Mason / Tinkerer in the Marvel film Spider-Man: Homecoming . In 2020 he starred as Ken Rosey in the crime series Tommy in one of the leading roles.
