Mio Nishimaki ( Japanese 西 牧 未央 , Nishimaki Mio ; born July 15, 1987 ) is a Japanese wrestler . In 2008 and 2009 she became world champion in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight.
Career
Mio Nishimaki has been wrestling since 1991. She is a member of the wrestling team of the former Chūkyō Women's University (today: Shigakkan University ; English Chukyo Women's University Wrestling Club ) in Ōbu and has been coached by Kazuhito Sakae since 2003 . The student is only 1.61 meters tall and mostly wrestles in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight. In this weight class she has an almost unbeatable competitor in Japan in Kaori Icho , who has so far prevented Mio Nishimaki from achieving even greater successes than those she has achieved so far.
The success of Mio Nishimaki began in 2005 when she took 3rd place in the Japanese championship in the weight class up to 59 kg behind Seiko Yamamoto and Ayoko Shoda . In the same year she became Asian junior champion in Jeju / South Korea and even junior world champion in Vilnius , each in the weight class up to 63 kg. In Vilnius she defeated the Indian generic Jakhar in the final battle.
In 2006, Mio Nishimaki won the University World Championships in Ulaanbaatar , leaving Badrachyn Odontschimeg from Mongolia and Alaina Berube from the United States behind. Then she was in Guatemala City for the second time junior world champion in the weight class up to 63 kg. She defeated Justine Bouchard from Canada and Jelena Schalygina from Kazakhstan in the decisive fights . In December 2006, she was the first Japanese champion in women in the weight class up to 59 kg. She relegated Kei Yamana and Ayako Sato to their places.
In 2007 Mio Nishimaki was not used in any international championships, but was again Japanese champion in December of that year in the weight class up to 67 kg. In the final, she defeated Mami Shinkai after beating Eri Sakamoto in the semifinals .
In 2008, after the Olympic Games in Beijing , Tokyo also hosted world championships . Mio Nishimaki was used there instead of the Olympic champion Kaori Icho in the weight class up to 63 kg and won the world title there with victories over Paulina Grabowska, Poland , Lili Meng , China , Olesja Samula , Azerbaijan and Lyubow Michailowna Wolossowa from Russia . In December 2008, Mio Nishimaki was Japanese champion for the third time ahead of Kayoko Kudo and Akiko Maruyama .
In 2009 Mio Nishimaki was Asian champion in Pattaya ahead of Wilaiwan Thongkam from Thailand . It was then used again at the World Championships in Herning / Denmark and was there for the second time world champion in the weight class up to 63 kg. She defeated Olesja Samula, Stefanie Stüber from Germany , who opposed her toughest resistance and only narrowly lost 1: 2 rounds and 1: 3 points, Jelana Schalygina and Lyubow Michailowna Wolossowa. In the final of the Japanese championship in 2009, she lost to Kaori Icho and took 2nd place.
In 2010, Mio Nishimaki was only at the Asian Games in Guangzhou . But she was not in good shape there and had to accept shoulder defeats against Chen Meng from China and Otschirbatyn Nasanburmaa from Mongolia , which brought her to 7th place.
From the time after that, there are no more results from Mio Nishimaki.
