Mittelberg is a place and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Langenlois in the Krems-Land district in Lower Austria .

geography

The place is in the small region Kamptal Süd between Langenlois and Gföhl . The altitude in the center of the village is 426 meters. The area of ​​the cadastral community covers 6.94 km². The population is 203 (as of 2020).

history

The village was first mentioned as "Mitterperch" in 1194; viticulture is mentioned there as early as 1255. From the 13th to the 16th century Mittelberg belonged to the rulership of the Imbach Monastery , later to various rulers and finally to Schiltern . The previously independent municipality of Mittelberg was merged with the municipality of Langenlois in 1968 .
