MoTrip (2016)

MoTrip (born March 7, 1988 in Beirut , Lebanon ; real name is Mohamed El Moussaoui , Arabic محمد الموساوي) is a German rapper of Lebanese origin. His artist name contains the letter combination Mo , which occurs in the first and last name , but is also similar to the Arabic wordمُطْرِب, DMG muṭrib 'singer'. Since the end of 2011 he has been under contract with Universal Music .

MoTrip was born as Mohamed El Moussaoui in the Lebanese capital Beirut . His family emigrated to Germany from his homeland in 1989 because of the civil war at the time . Since then he has lived in Aachen . He grew up in Aachen-Mitte on Blücherplatz. Due to the influence of his older brother Hassan El Moussaoui, known as Elmo , he came to rap at a young age and began writing his own lyrics at the age of 15. As a role model at this time, MoTrip Kool Savas , who also has roots in Aachen. After a few published songs and positive feedback, various well-known rappers became aware of MoTrip. For example, there were collaborations on publications by the artists Kool Savas, Samy Deluxe , Fler , Massiv , Silla and JokA . In 2011 MoTrip was also featured on the soundtrack for the film Blutzbrüdaz by Sido .

At the end of 2011 MoTrip signed a contract with the major label Universal Music. His debut album Embryo , which includes guest contributions by Marsimoto , Silla, JokA and Raf 3.0 , was released on March 2, 2012. The first song on the album was the title Nightmare, including a music video, that was released in mid-2011 until February 24, 2012 the first single Kennen including a music video followed.

According to its own information, MoTrip has worked several times as a ghostwriter for other rappers. In 2011, the rapper Eko Fresh also claimed via Twitter that MoTrip wrote the Fler album Airmax Muzik II , which was released in the same year . On the song Vollmond of the Fler album, also released in 2011, in the back of the bus, as well as the titles Selbst ist der Mann , Living Legend , Leave Me Alone , The Real Life , Not Like You , Theory & Practice , Aaliyah , Limitless and AMYF des 2012 published album AMYF by Berlin rapper Bushido , MoTrip is also officially designated as a co-author.

In September 2013 MoTrip published the song Guten Morgen NSA , which deals with the surveillance and espionage affair in 2013 . This was number 80 in the German single charts for a week and was MoTrip's first single chart success.

On June 19, 2015 MoTrip's second solo album Mama was released, which entered the German charts at number 3. The title As you are from this album reached number three in the German single charts and became the greatest success of MoTrip's career.

In 2016 he played in an episode of the RTL series Der Lehrer , which was broadcast on February 9, 2017.

On October 1st, 2018 MoTrip announced the signing of the contract of the rapper Lenny Morris, who has signed "GHOST" at MoTrips Universal Urban Edition.

On December 7, 2018, the collaboration album Mohamed Ali with Ali As was released . The album reached number 43 in the German charts. In 2019 they played together at the Openair Frauenfeld and the Splash .

MoTrip was one of the seven participants in the seventh season of Sing my song - The exchange concert . Also in the season are Max Giesinger , Nico Santos , Lea , Ilse DeLange , Jan Plewka and Michael Patrick Kelly as moderators. In the first broadcast he succeeded in the "Song of the evening" with his reinterpretation of Giesinger's 80 million . He kept the composition, but changed the lyrics as much as possible. Instead of looking for and finding great love, he raps or sings about how he and his family had to flee Lebanon before the war and how he found his identity and his great love in Germany as one of "80 million". While appearing on the show, he moved Giesinger and the other participants to tears. The piece placed in the German single charts at position 60. On May 22, 2020, his best-of album Elements was released . There are also three new songs on the album.
