The Moby Corse is a ferry of the Italian Moby Lines , which was commissioned in 1978 as Dana Anglia for the Danish Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab (DFDS). The ship is currently used between Genoa and Bastia .

history

Dana Anglia

The Dana Anglia was commissioned in May 1975 and laid down on May 21, 1976 under hull number 210 in Aalborg Værft in Aalborg . After the takeover by DFDS on April 28, 1978, the ship was put into service on May 13, 1978 on the route from Esbjerg to Harwich .

In December 1982 Dana Anglia became the property of Esbjerg-based K / F Difko XXI, but was still used by DFDS. In January 1987 Sealink British Ferries chartered the ship and continued to use it on its old route. Between November 1988 and February 1989 it also operated the route between Oslo and Copenhagen . On December 29, 1989, Dana Anglia was again owned by DFDS.

In January 1993 the ship was modernized in the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft and continued to be used between Esbjerg and Harwich. From January 1999 it also used the port of IJmuiden .

Duke of Scandinavia

On October 2, 2002, the Dana Anglia in Copenhagen was officially renamed the Duke of Scandinavia and from there moved to Trelleborg and Danzig . On November 28, 2003, the ship switched to the route from Newcastle upon Tyne to IJmuiden.

Pont L'Abbé

The Italian Moby Lines bought the ship in November 2009 and named it Moby Corse in December 2009 . It entered service on the route from Toulon to Bastia on May 20, 2010 , before being relocated to Genoa in 2013.

In September 2014 the Swedish offshore operator SweOffshore chartered the Moby Corse , for which it has been used as a residential ship since a renovation in Esbjerg. In 2015 the ship returned to liner service.

In 2017 the ship received new Wärtsilä diesel generators.
