Montmeló is a Spanish municipality in the autonomous region of Catalonia .

It belongs to the Comarca Vallès Oriental in the province of Barcelona . Montmeló is located about 20 km north of Barcelona on the Besòs river and has 8755 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). The community is known nationwide for the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which opened there in 1991 .
