action

Former Mafioso Enrico Puzzo tries to make money out of his memoirs as an investigative author. This calls the mafia godfather Salvatore Marino on the scene. This gives the professional killer Toni Ricardelli the order to get Puzzo out of the way.

As luck would have it, Ricardelli falls in love with Puzzo's client, Julia Steffens, who works for the publishing house. Since this does not believe that Puzzo is dead, Ricardelli takes on the identity of the author with the help of his old friend Pepe. Since the godfather believes that Puzzo is still alive, he sets a whole horde of killers on him. Ricardelli's old friend, the charming Bavarian Helmut Münchinger, is among them.

At the same time, the publisher's son, Bob Kimbel, who is also Julia's fiancé, tries to track down the wrong Puzzo. Ricardelli faces a difficult decision. He can die as a writer or give up his masquerade and reveal to Julia that he is a hit man, and risk losing her love. Before he can bring himself to reveal his true identity to Julia, she herself reveals his secret, is dismayed and offended by Ricardelli's insincerity. After the affair with Ricardelli, however, she cannot return to the arms of her fiancé Bob either. So she dumps Bob after a night of partying. He sees his only chance of not losing Julia in marrying her before she gets sober again.

The lightning wedding fails, however, as Salvatore Marino and his followers are already waiting in the church and Julia, Bob, his psychologist Dr. Gruber and his secretary Lisa hostage in order to get the manuscript of the latest novel Puzzos into his possession and thereby prevent its publication.

Ricardelli manages to free the prisoners. After the showdown, during which Lisa and Bob as well as Ricardelli and Julia confess their love to each other, the two lovers step in front of the altar together to say yes.

Reviews

Christina Krisch wrote in the Kronen Zeitung on February 26, 2009 that the film suffered from a lack of pun. The director would try his hand at a pastiche in the genre of crime thrillers and agent films of the 1960s and spice it up with veterans like Bud Spencer and Franco Nero and stage Nora Tschirner as a bumbling erotic boob. However, a blunder course does not make a comedy.

On February 28, 2009, OÖN stated that the film was a fast-paced comedy, the black humor of which was in the details and in which, embedded between oaths of love in the hail of bullets, each of the protagonists found their happiness and their true self.
