Morten Eide Pedersen (born December 18, 1987 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Pedersen made his debut in the Scandinavian Cup in Sjusjøen in January 2007 , where he finished 144th in the 15 km mass start race in classical technique and 185th place in the 15 km freestyle. He achieved his first point placement in December 2008 with 19th place over 15 km classic in Lygna . Pedersen achieved further top 20 placements in the Scandinavian Cup in January 2010 with 13th place over 15 km classic in Åsarna , in January 2011 with 16th place in the 20 km freestyle mass start race in Torsby , 18th place in February 2014 at the 30 km -classical mass start race in Meråker and eleventh place over 15 km classic in Vuokatti in December 2015. In January 2009 Pedersen was Norwegian relay champion together with Tore Ruud Hofstad and Espen Harald Bjerke in Lillehammer .

Since the 2009/10 season , Pedersen has also competed in ski marathons . He was fourth in 2010 and sixth in the American Birkebeiner in 2011 , tenth in the Birkebeiner race in 2012 and fifth in La Sgambeda in December 2013 . In January 2015, Pedersen won the Jizera Mountains Run . In January 2016 he finished third at La Diagonela and finished eighth in both the Marcialonga and the Jizera Mountains. In the 2016/17 season he won the Jizera Mountains Run and took third place at the Marcialonga and Toblach – Cortina Runs and thus achieved fifth place in the overall Ski Classics ranking. In the following season he won the Jizera Mountains Run and finished at the Marcialonga and thus achieved third place in the Ski Classics overall ranking.

After finishing second over 28 km at the Classic Ski Prologue in Livigno at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Pedersen took third place at the Kaiser Maximilian Run and won the König Ludwig Run . He finished the season in fifth place in the Ski Classics overall ranking. At the beginning of May 2019 he won the Fossavatn Ski Marathon over 50 km classic. In the 2019/20 season, she came second in the prologue and third at La Venosta and thus achieved fifth place in the overall ranking of the Ski Classics.
