The Municipio Icla is a district in the Chuquisaca Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Icla is one of four municipalities in the Jaime Zudáñez province and is located in the southern part of the province. It borders in the northwest with the province of Yamparáez , in the west with the department Potosí , in the south with the province Azurduy , in the east with the province Tomina , and in the northeast with the municipality Zudáñez .

The municipality extends between 19 ° 17 'and 19 ° 41' south latitude and 64 ° 37 'and 64 ° 55' west longitude, it measures up to 50 kilometers from north to south and up to 30 kilometers from west to east.

The municipality comprises 48 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Icla with 505 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northwestern part of the district.

The municipality of Icla is located between the Altiplano in the west and the lowlands in the east in one of the north-south side valleys of the Bolivian Cordillera Central .

The climate of the region is a distinct daytime climate , in which the temperature differences between day and night fluctuate more clearly than the average values ​​between summer and winter.
