The Municipio Inquisivi is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Inquisivi is one of six Municipios of the Inquisivi Province and is located in the eastern part of the province. It borders the Municipio Cajuata , the Municipio Licoma Pampa , the Municipio Quime and the Municipio Ichoca to the west, the Municipio Colquiri to the south, the Cochabamba department to the east , and the Sud Yungas province to the north .

The municipality has 164 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality and the most populous place is Inquisivi with 555 inhabitants in the central part of the district. ( 2012 census )

geography

The Municipio Inquisivi is located at an average altitude of 2800  m on the eastern slopes of the Quimsa Cruz Cordillera , between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. The region has a distinct time-of-day climate in which the daily temperature fluctuations are greater than the seasonal fluctuations.

The mean average temperature of the region is 10.5 ° C (see climate diagram Quime), the monthly average temperatures fluctuate between 7 ° C in June / July and just under 13 ° C in November / December. The annual precipitation is almost 600 mm, from May to August there is a dry season with monthly precipitation below 15 mm, in the months of January and February there is a long-term average between 120 and 130 mm of rain.
