The Municipio San Ignacio is a district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of San Ignacio is one of three municipalities in the province of José Miguel de Velasco and borders in the north on the department Beni , in the west on the province Ñuflo de Chávez , in the southwest on the municipality San Miguel , in the southeast on the municipality San Rafael and on the province of Chiquitos , and to the east to the Republic of Brazil .
The largest town and administrative seat of the province is the middle town of San Ignacio de Velasco with 23,126 inhabitants (2012 census) in the southern part of the municipality.

The municipality of San Ignacio is located in the Bolivian lowlands in the Chiquitanía region , a partially untouched landscape between Santa Cruz and the Brazilian border.
The region's climate is a semi-humid climate of the warm tropics . The monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly over the course of the year between 20.8 ° C in June and 26.8 ° C in October, with an almost constant 26 ° C between September and March. The annual mean temperature is 24.5 ° C (see climate diagram).
The long-term average annual rainfall is 1257 mm. Three quarters of the precipitation falls in the rainy season from November to March, while in the dry season in the arid months of June, July and August there is hardly any 30 mm per month.
