NGC 2245 denotes a reflection nebula in the constellation Unicorn , which is about 2500 light years away. The nebula was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel on January 16, 1784 with the help of his 18.7 inch telescope and was later listed in the New General Catalog by Johan Dreyer .
