NGC 6250 is an open cluster (type definition "IV3p") in the constellation Altar and about 865 Parsecs from Earth. It was discovered on July 1, 1834 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, which was called “cluster class VIII; loose and straggling; place that of a double star in central more condensed group; has a 8th mag star Sf 5 ′ and another 7th mag more remote ”.
