NGC 6244 is a 13.5 mag light barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 204 million light years from the Milky Way and has a disk diameter of around 95,000 ly.
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 28, 1886 .
