NGC 6235 is a 8.9 like brighter globular clusters of class X in the constellation Ophiuchus .
It was discovered on May 26, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflecting telescope, who described it as "pB, cL, gbM, easily resolvable, undoubtedly stellar". During his observation with an 18-inch reflector telescope in 1847, John Herschel noted "pretty compressed, small, 2 ′, rather triangular than round, mbM, resolved into stars 14..16th mag".
