Naujaat [ naːˈjaːtˢʰ ] (according to the old spelling Naujât ) is a desolate Greenlandic settlement in the district of Uummannaq in the Avannaata Kommunia .

location

Naajaat is located in the southwest of the island of Qeqertarsuaq ten kilometers northwest of Nuugaatsiaq , which is on the same island. The place is located in the northern part of the fjord system of the Karrat fjord .

history

Naajaat only existed briefly. It was settled in 1940 and then had between nine and fifteen residents. The residential space was given up again as early as 1948.
