Nadroga-Navosa
Nadroga-Navosa ( Nadroga : Nadrogā-Navoha) is one of the fourteen Fijian provinces (yasana) and is one of the eight provinces on Viti Levu , the largest island in Fiji. The province in the Western Division covers an area of approximately 2,385 km² and extends over the southwest and central parts of Viti Levu. The province also includes the Mamanuca Archipelago off the west coast of Viti Levu, Vatulele (nad .: Vahilele), and the remote Ceva-i-Ra in the southwest. In 2017, 58,931 inhabitants were counted. This makes it the fifth largest province. The main town is Sigatoka , which alone has about 9700 inhabitants.
geography
Nadroga-Navosas extends from the south coast far into the center of the island to the northeast. While the north borders completely on the province of Ba , the provinces of Naitasiri , Namosi and Serua join the Central Division in the east . The area around Mount Vatakasa with a base of the Fiji Electricity Authority (Monasavu Depot) extends far into the Naitasiri province.
The main town is Sigatoka near the mouth of the Sigatoka River . There are also the larger towns of Korolevu , Tuvu , Draiba , Saweni and Maveni in the hinterland, as well as the coastal towns of Navutu , Sanasana , Malomalo , Yadua , Korotogo , Vatua and Komave .
The coast of Nadroga is known for its white sandy beaches. Navosa, on the other hand, is the sparsely populated hinterland with rivers, deep gorges and steep mountains. Horses live wild in the hilly areas. The Mamanucas islands off the west coast are a popular tourist destination, especially for surfers. The coast is part of the Coral Coast with hotels like Shangri-La's Fijian Resort , Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort , Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, and others. Popular destinations are Tavarua Island , Natadola Beach , Korotogo, Sigatoka, the Sigatoka Sand Dunes and the Sigatoka Valley, the so-called "Salad Bowl of Fiji" "(Valley Road).
