The season of the Namibia Premier League 2013/14 started on October 19, 2013 and ended on June 14, 2014. The Namibia Premier League is the top division in football in Namibia . Black Africa was - initially with reservations ( see "Scandal match" ) - Namibian football champions for the fourth time in a row .
Scandal game
The second leg between the African Stars and Orlando Pirates on April 16, 2014 was canceled eight minutes before the end. The cause was the failure of the floodlights in the Sam Nujoma Stadium . The Namibian Football Association (NFA) decided a little later that the last eight minutes of the game should be replayed when the score was 2-0 for Orlando Pirates. The African Stars did not appear in protest for these post-game minutes. Another appeal by the African Stars will now be dealt with on June 20th. On June 19, the court ruled that a final decision would be made shortly. On July 2, 2014, the eight minutes were finally made up for. Since the African Stars did not win, Black Africa was declared champion.
A little later, the African Stars were sentenced to two seasons suspension and a fine for their unsportsmanlike conduct. This decision was surprisingly withdrawn by the Namibian Football Association on August 27, 2014.
