The season of the Namibia Premier League 2014/15 took place from October 8, 2014 to May 2015. It was the first season of the top division in football in Namibia , in which 16 (previously 12) teams took part.
Composition of the season
Since 16 instead of 12 teams are taking part in the season for the first time, the Namibia Football Association has agreed on the following composition of the season:
- the first 10 teams from the 2013/2014 NPL season
- the three champions of the three regional leagues from the Namibia First Division in the 2013/2014 season
- Citizens FC - Windhoek (South)
- Touch & Go FC - Otavi (North-West)
- Julinho Sporting FC - Rundu (North-East)
- the three best teams from the 2013/2014 relegation .
- Rebels FC - Windhoek (South)
- Mighty Gunners - Otjiwarongo (North-West)
- Benfica FC - Tsumeb (North-East)
particularities
Due to financial problems, the Ramblers decided not to participate in the 2014/15 season in the Namibia Premier League. UNAM FC bought the launch rights. Ramblers now compete in the Namibia First Division .
The African Stars was excluded Premier League because of their unsportsmanlike conduct in the 2013/14 season for the seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16 from the game of Namibia. The 2016/17 season can begin for the stars in the Namibia First Division . ( See also: Namibia Premier League 2013/14 # scandal game ) This decision was surprisingly withdrawn on August 27, 2014 by the Namibian Football Association.
