Narine Jeghijan

Narine Jeghijan , Armenian Նարինե Եղիյան (born December 16, 1981 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian opera singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Jeghijan studied opera singing with Nelly Pirumowa at the State Conservatory of Yerevan from 2001 to 2006 . She then supplemented her training there with a two-year postgraduate course, which she completed in 2008. From 2009 to 2011 she was a guest soloist at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Yerevan. From 2011 to 2013 she was a fellow of the Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation and a member of the International Opera Studio of the Berlin State Opera . In 2013 Narine Jeghijan was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association . She took part in master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender , Deborah Polaski , Francisco Araiza , Grace Bumbry and Patricia McCaffrey , among others .

Since the 2013/14 season Narine Jeghijan has been a member of the ensemble of the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin. On this stage she sang Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro under the direction of Daniel Barenboim , Angelo Custode and the heavenly voice in Emilio de 'Cavalieri's rap presentations di Anima, et di Corpo under the direction of René Jacobs , Papagena in the Magic Flute , Giannetta in L'elisir d'amore , Tebaldo in Don Carlo , and a milliner in Rosenkavalier under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle .

In 2013/14 she sang Gloria in Ernst Krenek's Confidence, Cinderella in Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari's Cinderella, Woglinde in Rheingold and the first soprano in Frank Martin's Le vin herbé . In 2015 she could be heard as the flower girl in a new production of Parsifal under the direction of Daniel Barenboim and as Barbara in a new production of Georg Philipp Telemann's Emma and Eginhard under the direction of René Jacobs .

In 2015/16 she was as Zerlina in Don Giovanni under the direction of Massimo Zanetti and as Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos under the direction of Karl-Heinz Steffens . She also sang as Adina in L'elisir d'amore under the direction of Karsten Januschke at the St. Margarethen Opera Festival .

In 2016 she made her debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte under the direction of Alexander Soddy and could be heard as Amor in Orfeo ed Euridice under the direction of Alessandro De Marchi . In 2017 she was the voice of the falcon in a new production Die Frau ohne Schatten by Claus Guth under the direction of Zubin Mehta .

In the 2017/18 season she was Musetta in " La Bohème " at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and made her debut as Vitellia in " La clemenza di Tito " at the Staatstheater Braunschweig under the direction of Srba Dinić .

In 2018/19 she made her debut as Contessa in " Le Nozze di Figaro " at the Teatro de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and could be heard as Vitellia in " La clemenza di Tito " at the Staatstheater Oldenburg.
