The National Parliament of Solomon Islands ( German  National Parliament of the Solomon Islands ) is the unicameral parliament of the Solomon Islands . It consists of 50 members who are directly elected every four years in single-constituencies with a simple majority vote. All citizens over the age of 18 who are resident in one of the constituencies at the time of the election have the right to vote. Citizens over the age of 21 who reside in a constituency are eligible.

The national parliament usually meets three times a year for three to four weeks. On average, 13 laws are passed each year. Parliament is prematurely dissolved at the request of the Prime Minister.

When independence was achieved in 1978, the national parliament emerged from the legislative assembly established in 1974 in preparation for independence.

The current House of Parliament was donated by the United States in 1994 .
