In the 1999 season of the Swiss National League A in chess , SG Zurich , SK Mendrisio and SG Biel fought head-to-head for the title, which the Zurich team won with one point ahead of both competitors. The defending champion SK Bern had to be content with sixth place. Club d'Echecs de Genève and SV Wollishofen had to relegate to National League B, both of which were four points behind the 8th place.
