The area Dhünntal and Linnefetal extends in the municipality of Odenthal between the fairytale forest in Altenberg and Hüttchen .

Wermelskirchen

The area Dhünntal and Linnefetal extends in the urban area of ​​Wermelskirchen in the valleys and side valleys south of Lüdorf and Koenenmühle , west of Grünenbäumchen , south of Limmringhausen and in the Dhünntal to west of the former forester's house In der Aue .

Protection goals

The Dhünn is close to nature and has bed and bank structures that offer good conditions as habitats for the bullhead and the river lamprey, among others . It is a core area in the Bergisches Land Nature Park . It is part of the Dhünn-Eifgenbach corridor, which creates the network between the two natural areas Bergische Hochflächen and Bergische Heideterrassen .

The protection expulsion was issued for the following reasons:

  • To maintain and develop a predominantly near-natural stream valley system with larger alluvial forest stands , wet and wet grassland as well as rock areas, heather remnants and sifts and the extensive beech and oak forests as well as old wood stands on the slopes,

  • To preserve the special character and beauty of the landscape in the valley area of ​​the Dhuenn with its special importance for recreation.

FFH area

A part of the nature reserve is also part of the FFH area Dhünn and Eifgenbach (area number DE-4809-301). In particular, it concerns the Dhünntal below the Great Dhünntalsperre near Kochshof to Altenberg .
