Ndioum is the largest city in the Podor department of the Saint-Louis region , located in northern Senegal .
Geographical location
Ndioum enjoys a central location in the Podor department. The city is located across from the elongated island of Morfil on the left southern bank of the Doué , which meanders to the west and separates this island from the rest of the country as the left southern branch of the Senegal Current . One of the few road bridges crosses the Doué on the eastern outskirts. It is 170 meters long.
Ndioum is located 362 kilometers northeast of Dakar , 206 kilometers east of the regional prefecture of Saint-Louis and 37 kilometers southeast of Podor .

The national road N 2 connects Ndioum with all cities in the river regions from Saint-Louis in the west to Kidira in the east of the country. The closest towns on the N2 are Dagana (95 km) in the west and Thilogne (137 km) in the southeast.
Via the N2, Ndioum is connected to the Podor airport, 40 km away, and to the national air transport network.
