The Nemzeti Bajnokság 1956 was the 54th season in the history of the highest Hungarian football league . It was canceled a few games before the end of the season due to the Hungarian uprising . At this point, four teams had already played all of the games. The remaining teams could not agree on when the remaining eight games will be made up.
