The Nemzeti Bajnokság 1998/99 was the 98th season in the history of the highest Hungarian football league . It began on July 24, 1998 and ended on June 16, 1999. From the end of November 1998 to the end of February 1999 the game was closed (winter break). MTK Hungária FC became champions for the 21st time .
