The Nemzeti Bajnokság 1970 was the 69th season in the history of the highest Hungarian football league . Master was Újpesti Dózsa for the eleventh time .

The season was played in two groups, as the game year was changed to autumn / spring. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. There was no relegation. The first place in each group received eight bonus points for the 1970/71 season , the runner-up seven, etc. After the end of the season, playoffs with back and forth were held for the final positions.
