The Nesse , also called Nessebach , is an approximately 5.9 km long, orographically left or northwestern tributary of the Werra in the Werra-Meißner district in northeastern Hesse , Germany .

The Nesse rises in the central south of the southern Ringgau west of the village of Holzhausen , a north-western district of Herleshausen . Its source is south of the Fernberg ( 438.2 m above sea level ), about 800 m west-southwest of Gut Hohenhaus at an altitude of about 325 m .
Initially, the Nesse flows under the Wartburgpfad and Werra-Burgen-Steig hiking trails , east-northeast past Gut Hohenhaus in the direction of Holzhausen, both of which are below the Dachsberg ( 440.4 m ). The town, that the Nesse affected south, it bends to the southeast and passed the some distance on the Schlossberg situated castle ruins Brandenfels ( 452.3 m ). Then it runs along the state road 3423 and flows through the village of Nesselröden , where first the Schindgraben and then the Breitzbach joins. Afterwards it flows along the federal highway 400 , first crosses it and then the federal highway 4 under the valley bridge Wommen .
The Nesse then flows through the Herleshausen village of Wommen along the L 3252 , crosses under the L 3251 there, and shortly after crossing under the Thuringian Railway to about 200 m above sea level. NN to flow into the Weser source river Werra .

The tributaries of the Nesse , whose catchment area is 24.035 km², include downstream with orographic allocation (l = left-hand side, r = right-hand side), length of the river, mouth with Nesse creek kilometers and catchment area size :
