Neuhaus am Klausenbach is a market town with 898 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Jennersdorf district in Burgenland in Austria .
geography
Geographical location
The municipality is located at 359 m above sea level not far from the border triangle Austria-Hungary-Slovenia in the Raab-Őrség-Goričko nature park and is the southernmost municipality in Burgenland (most southwestern point at Maria-Theresien-Stein ). At Bonisdorf lies on the border with Slovenia at 417 m above sea level. A. high Stadelberg the highest point in the Jennersdorf district.

The municipality includes the following four localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Bonisdorf (95) including Eck and Stadelberg
- Kalch (196) including Kalchbergen, Liembleck and Romischeck
- Krottendorf near Neuhaus am Klausenbach (128) including Edelsbach and Kalchbergen
- Neuhaus am Klausenbach (479) including Altenhof, Pfaffengraben, Romischeck, Sandriegel, Steinleiten and Tabor
The community consists of the four cadastral communities Bonisdorf, Kalch, Krottendorf bei Neuhaus and Neuhaus am Klausenbach.

history
Neuhaus was first known in a document in 1213. From 1213 to 1332 Neuhaus was owned by the St. Gotthard Abbey. In 1478 the place was raised to the market for the first time. From 1607 the place belonged to the rule of the Batthyány family .
Like all of Burgenland, the place belonged to Hungary (German-West Hungary) until 1920/21 . Since 1898 had due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Vasdobra be used. After the end of the First World War , after tough negotiations, German-West Hungary was awarded to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919. The place has belonged to the newly founded federal state of Burgenland since 1921 (see also the history of Burgenland ). Neuhaus am Klausenbach has been a market town since 1992 (through VO 74).

The coat of arms was awarded on March 23, 1977. It is a talking coat of arms and describes the name Neuhaus , it is based on the emblem of the community, which has been used as a seal image for centuries.
