history

Neukammer, then still Nikammer or Niekammer, has been a district of Nauen since 1350. The fact that Neukammer became a district of Nauen is due to the plague . In 1348 all residents of Neukammer died of the Black Death. In 1350 the city of Nauen incorporated the now uninhabited village, as Neukammer offered a lucrative business with its parish church St. Marien. Since its construction, St. Mary's Church has been a place of pilgrimage to worship the painful mother , where pilgrims from near and far promised to alleviate their pain and ailments by making offerings. The amicable deal with the pilgrimage led to a dispute between the Nauen magistrate and the cathedral chapter of Brandenburg in 1358 . The cathedral chapter and the magistrate had different opinions as to who was entitled to the offerings. Thanks to the support of the margrave and elector Ludwig II, the magistrate was able to prevail in his opinion that all offerings of the Neukammer church should be available. The cathedral chapter then declared the worship of the Mother of God ended at this point, which led to a significant decline in the number of pilgrims and thus in the city's income.

With the introduction of the Reformation in 1539 by Elector Joachim II , the end of St. Mary's as a place of pilgrimage came and the church visibly fell into disrepair. In 1545 the church was demolished and its materials used for the construction of an outbuilding , since then the district has only been mentioned as a new chamber. On May 5, 1697 Neukammer fell victim to the flames, but was subsequently rebuilt.

The piece of arable land popularly known as “The Old Court”, which is said to have been an execution site, is located on the edge of the road between Neukammer and Lietzow and was only used for agriculture at the beginning of the 19th century.

The Fideikommissiar Fritz Stoltze was one of a long line of owners of Neukammer Vorwerk, it included the piece of land in Luch (40  ha ) at the vineyard where later the Nauen Transmitter Station to be built. The lease agreement for and subsequent sale of this piece of land are said to have formed the basis for the establishment of the Nauen radio station.

After the Second World War, when there was an anti-aircraft floodlight position occupied by Luftwaffe helpers (high school students) from Zwickau in Saxony in Neukammer , the Vorwerk and the associated land were expropriated and divided up as part of the land reform . The land reform was followed by the establishment of a type III LPG and with it huge pig fattening facilities and dairy stables. The buildings of the Vorwerk were partly used by the LPG, partly as a residential building and as a kindergarten, but many were left to decay. Today only remains of the former Vorwerk can be found.
