Neunkirchen is a district of Bad Mergentheim in the Main-Tauber district in northeast Baden-Württemberg .

history

middle Ages

In 1224 the place was first mentioned as Nunchirchen .

Modern times

In 1806 Neunkirchen came to the Kingdom of Württemberg and was subordinate to the Mergentheim Oberamt, formed in 1809 . Since 1938 the place belonged to the district Mergentheim .

On January 1st, 1972 Neunkirchen was incorporated into Bad Mergentheim together with Althausen , Apfelbach , Löffelstelzen and Markelsheim . As in the context of on 1 January 1973 Württemberg Baden-district reform the county Mergentheim was dissolved, Neunkirchen part in the sequel to the newly formed Tauber district , which its present name on 1 January 1974 Main-Tauber-Kreis received.
