geography
The village Hachtel is the only place of the district and is in a straight line over eight kilometers south-southwest of the city center of Bad Mergentheim in the valley of Hachteler Bach , who even before the place Wachbach from the left and south in the same Wachbach flows, as well as in the small side valley of the mouth trench . The houses stand at heights between 290 and 345 m above sea level. NHN .
One to one and a half kilometers further south and upstream, the dam of the Hachtel flood retention basin crosses the basin of the Hachteler Bach, which runs through the limestone, and protects the village from the rare but sometimes devastating floods.
