The New Horizons Festival is a multi-day music festival in the field of electronic dance music on the Nürburgring .

The festival was held for the first time in 2017 and had more than 50,000 visitors. The festival is organized by Alda Events .

The site is said to be a fascinating kingdom. There are different “worlds” with individual stages, on each of which a certain style of music is represented, including the main stage, the Capital Park , and the Urban Circus , on which EDM and Big Room can mainly be heard. The Dark District represents Hardstyle , the DJs in Traptown play Trap. In 2017 there was a Garden of Goa ; this was replaced by Factory 49 from 2018 . By 2018, became a trance in Trancetonia played

The visitors are addressed as travelers . Food and drinks are paid for with so-called tokens , a digital currency. A chip card is attached to the festival ribbon, onto which money can be loaded and used to pay.

In 2017, the festival was held for the first time in the paddock at the Nürburgring . The headliners included Armin van Buuren , Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , Martin Solveig and Afrojack . There were also many German artists such as Felix Jaehn , Robin Schulz and ATB in the line-up .

From August 24 to 25, 2018, 68,000 spectators attended the festival. The festival took place again at the Nürburgring, but moved within the ring to the Müllenbachschleife in the second year .

In 2019, the New Horizons took place over three festival days and five camping days. The first 3,333 early bird tickets were sold out a few days after the 2018 festival ended. According to the organizers, 80,000 travelers took part, 15,000 of whom stayed at the campsite.

On the last day of the festival in 2019, the fourth edition of the New Horizons 2020 was confirmed, which should again include three festival days.

As the organizer announced on November 29, 2019 on its website, the New Horizons Festival 2020 will not take place. It should not take place until 2021 with a new concept at a new location.
