Nikolai Alexandrovich Bojarski ( Russian Николай Александрович Боярский * 10. December 1922 in Kolpino , Soviet Russia ; † 7. October 1988 in Leningrad ) was a Soviet theater - and film - actor .

origin

Nikolai Boyarski was a son of the Russian Orthodox priest Alexander Ivanovich Boyarsky (1885–1937), b. Blessing yuk. His father Ivan Ivanovich Segenyuk was already active in the church service, Ivan's wife Felixa Wenediktowna Bojarskaja came from a Polish aristocratic family. Alexander's brother Ivan Segenyuk was a World War I veteran , then served in the Red Army and in 1921 became the commander of the 8th Air Brigade Battery .

Nikolai's mother Jekaterina Nikolajewna Bojarskaja (1887–1956), b. Bojanowskaja, was the daughter of Nikolai Ignatievich Bojanowski, a director of the Russian State Bank . She taught English and French at the Leningrad Theological Academy from 1946 until her death .

Nikolai's older brothers Alexei (1912–1966) and Sergei (1916–1976) were also actors, as were Sergei's wife Yekaterina Mikhailovna Melentjewa (1920–1922), his sons Alexander (1938–1980) and Mikhail (* 1949) and Mikhail's daughter Jelisaweta (* 1985). Pawel, Nikolai's third brother, was an engineer and participant in the German-Soviet war .

Life and accomplishments

Under Sergei's influence, Nikolai Boyarsky became interested in the acting profession at an early age and made his debut as an extra in 1937 in the film The Girl Without a Dowry . In 1940 he entered the Leningrad Theater Institute , but was drafted into the Red Army on July 25, 1941 and remained a member of the military until the end of the war. He was wounded in the Battle of Leningrad on December 3, 1941. After the hospital stay, Boyarsky first fought near Stalingrad and was later involved in the battle for the Crimea and in the context of the liberation of Sevastopol . Most recently he was stationed in Königsberg as a commanding sergeant .

After the war, Boyarsky resumed his education in Leningrad and graduated in 1948. He then performed at the Kommisarschewskaja Theater until 1982 . He only interrupted his engagement there for one season at the Lensovjet Theater (1964/65). Well-known pieces with Bojarski's participation included Don Cesare de Bazan after Adolphe d 'Ennery (1949), Balsaminov's marriage after Alexander Ostrowski , Shakespeare's Cymbeline , an adaptation of Dostoyevsky's Schuld und atonement , The Old Man by Maxim Gorki , Mr. Puntila and his servant Matti by Bertolt Brecht , Gogols The Marriage and an adaptation of Jaroslav Hašek's The Good Soldier Schwejk .

The dark-haired mime continued his film career in 1957 in a television version of Don Cesare de Bazan , in which, as at the theater, he gave Charles II of Spain . From then on, television productions should make up a large part of his work in front of the camera. Bojarski had his best-known appearance in 1966 as the main actor in 12 стульев ( 12 stuljew ) based on the novel The Twelve Chairs , later followed by two other leading roles. Boyarsky died around two months before his 66th birthday and was buried in the Komarovo cemetery in Leningrad.

Private

Boyarsky married the actress Lidija Petrovna Schtykan (1922–1982) in 1945 , and their son Oleg was born on November 18 of the same year. The marriage also produced a daughter named Ekaterina, who also attended the theater faculty. She is the author of the book Театральная династия Боярских ( Teatralnaja dinastija Bojarskich , German: theater dynasty Boyarsky), published in 2007 .

Honors

Boyarsky was honored with the titles of Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1969) and People's Artist of the RSFSR (October 12, 1977). He also received the following awards for his military service:
