Nina Derron (born February 22, 1993 in Zurich ) is a Swiss triathlete . She is the Swiss Junior Triathlon, Duathlon and road run over 10 km. She is included in the list of Swiss women triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Nina Derron studies health sciences and technology at the ETH Zurich.

Junior Swiss Champion Triathlon and Duathlon 2011

In 2011, Nina Derron became Swiss champion among the juniors in triathlon (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running) as well as in duathlon. In 2012 she became the Swiss Junior Champion in the 10 km road race.

In August 2016, she finished 13th as the best Swiss woman at the Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Wiesbaden. At the EDF Alpe d'Huez triathlon , the then 24-year-old finished fourth in the long-distance triathlon in the French Alps in July 2017 (2.2 km swimming, 118 km cycling and 20 km running).

In February 2018 she achieved her first victory in the middle distance at the Ironman 70.3 Geelong (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running). In October she was fifth in the European Championships on the middle distance in Ibiza.

In April 2019 she was second at the Ironman 70.3 Marbella and in July also second on the long distance in Spain at the first Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz .

She is trained by Susie Langley and Brett Sutton . With the change to the long distance, your goal is a starting position at the Ironman Hawaii . Nina Derron lives in Zurich and studies health sciences and technology at the ETH Zurich.

Private

Nina Derron comes from a sporty family - her grandfather was already a Swiss swimmer. Her two younger sisters Julie Derron (* 1996) and Michelle Derron (* 1994) are also active as triathletes in the World Cup.
