Nora Baldenweg
Nora Baldenweg (born July 22, 1981 ) is a Swiss-Australian music producer , songwriter , musician and creative director (fashion) .
Life
Nora Baldenweg grew up in Australia and Switzerland. Her mother is the painter Marie-Claire Baldenweg and her father is the musician Pfuri Baldenweg .
In 2004 she founded the Great Garbo label together with her siblings Diego Baldenweg and Lionel Vincent Baldenweg . Together they have composed and produced music for more than 20 feature films and over 300 international advertising campaigns. In 2006 they received two awards for best music from the Federal Department of Home Affairs (EDI) and in 2010 the SUISA award for best film music (feature film: 180 ° - Amok) at the Locarno International Film Festival .
In 2017 they were nominated for the Oscar- nominated short film La Femme et le TGV with the acting icon Jane Birkin for their film music, as one of 4 finalists, nominated for the "Music + Sound Award" (International). In 2018 they won the Swiss Film Prize (best film music) for Die kleine Hexe and were nominated for the “Music + Sound Award” (International) as one of 6 finalists for their film music (Die last punchline). In 2019 they were nominated for their soundtrack for the feature film Zwingli at the World Soundtrack Awards (Public Choice) for “best score of the year”. In the same year they were nominated for an Australian Academy Award - AACTA for "best original music in TV" for their film music for The Unlisted .
Baldenweg is a member of the Art Directors Club Switzerland, the European Film Academy , the Swiss Film Academy and the Australian Academy of Cinema & Television Arts (AACTA) .
As a fashion journalist, she wrote for various international publications such as Russh, Vogue Taiwan, Indie, Nylon, Dazed, Material Girl and Wallpaper. From May 2014 she was also editor-in-chief of the French magazine Modzik. She has been working as creative director (fashion) since 2017 .
Nora Baldenweg lives in Zurich and Paris .
