Norbert Keil

Norbert Keil (born February 17, 1972 in Ulm ) is a German film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Norbert Keil graduated from the Bertha-von-Suttner-Gymnasium in Neu-Ulm and then went to Munich . According to his own statement, he never attended a film school, but followed Quentin Tarantino's advice: “If you want to make films, watch films. If you want to write books, read books. ”(“ If you want to make films, watch films. If you want to write books, read books. ”).

His first, publicly accessible film was made in 1999. The 14-minute horror short film Four Parts at Dawn with Minh-Khai Phan-Thi , Florian Wagner and Michou Pascale Anderson was produced by Aquarius Filmproduktion; The producer was Roland Lippoldmüller and the film music was written by Philipp F. On April 11, 2017, Keil celebrated his debut with the world premiere of his film Replace at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival with his first full-length English-language production. He wrote the script for the horror flick together with the native speaker Richard Stanley . The film with Rebecca Forsythe , Lucie Aron , Barbara Crampton , Sean Knopp , Adnan Maral and Agnes Kiyomi Decker was funded by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and in 2017 was also shown at the Los Angeles Film Festival , the FrightFest in London, the 39th Moscow International Film Festival , the L 'Etrange Festival in Paris, at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal and at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival .

In September 2016, he and his wife founded another company, Wunderbar Film Verwaltungs GmbH , based in Munich.
