The Switzerland took part in the 7th Nordic World Ski Championships , which from February 22 to March 3 1930 at Holmenkollen in the Norwegian capital Oslo were held, with a delegation of twelve skiers participate.

The trip to the then so-called FIS races was financed by the Swiss Ski Association and the most famous and important Swiss ski clubs. The trainer of the Swiss skiers was Fritz Erb .

The Swiss athletes took part in all official FIS competitions, but also in the military patrol run and the individual military races not described here. It should be noted that all Swiss military athletes also took part in the FIS competitions.

The most outstanding placings were Fritz Kaufmann's 22nd place in ski jumping , Walter Bussmann's 35th place in cross-country skiing over 17 km, and Ernst Feuz and Adolf Rubi's ranks 23 and 26 in Nordic combined . In these competitions, the Swiss also crowned themselves among the best Central Europeans and non- Scandinavians . Only in the endurance run over 50 km (best Franz Kunz as 54th) did this unofficial rating have to be assigned to Czechoslovakia .
