The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (formerly Northern Rockies Regional District ) is a district in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It is 85,111.07 km² and has 5,393 inhabitants (2016). In the 2011 census, there were still 5,578 inhabitants. The district was established on 29 January 2009 ( incorporated ).
The main town is Fort Nelson .
