Nyergesújfalu (German Sattel-Neudorf ) is a town in Esztergom County in Komárom-Esztergom County in northwest Hungary . On January 1, 2011 there were 7,510 residents. Magdolna Mihelik has been the mayor of Nyergesújfalu since 2010.
location
Nyergesújfalu is located on the southern bank of the Danube , which is about one kilometer wide here. The northern bank already belongs to Slovakia .
history
The German name of the place is Sattel-Neudorf and goes back to a horse station on the historic postal route Vienna - Budapest . About 20 percent of the population attribute their origins to Swabians, who immigrated about 250 years ago.

Partner communities have been Neu Wulmstorf ( Lower Saxony ) and Karlsdorf-Neuthard ( Baden-Württemberg ) since 1991 .

Nyergesújfalu is connected to the railway line from Komárom to Esztergom . The main road No. 10 runs through the city , which leads from Győr via Komárom to the capital Budapest.
