Nylars is a small town with 215 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea . The village is located in the parish of the same name ( Nylarsker Sogn ), which until 1970 belonged to the Harde Vester Herred in what was then Bornholm's office . With the dissolution of the Harden structure, the parish was included in the municipality of Aakirkeby , the municipality in turn, after a referendum on January 1, 2003 with other municipalities in the regional municipality of Bornholm . Between 2003 and 2007 it was independent and since January 1st 2007 it belongs to the Hovedstaden region .
Nylars is about seven kilometers west of Aakirkeby and about eight kilometers southeast of Rønne .
The Nylars Church is one of the four round churches on Bornholm.
